Rules 16-20

• Create Images - Don't Scavenge
This poster incorporates a new typeface made out of original boxes representing each letter. It is important to create something unique to itself and avoid clip art.

• Ignore Fashion, but Acknowledge Trends
This invitation incorporates the old look of UPS mail which makes reference to where these two met. This design is timeless and meaningful to the couple for their wedding announcement.

• Make It Dynamic, Communication is Process
This piece may appear static but the large letters divided by all upper case heirarchy in the typography creates a loud and dynamic noise.  The viewer is able to receive the information in a single nuclear boom.

• Look To History, But Don't Repeat It
This piece immediately reminded me of Paul Rand's "Direction" magazine cover yet it has a concept relating to it's content.  The hard dividing line in the middle illustrates the turmoil this book is going to convey apparent in 1968. The large typography adds to the loud emphasis on the year - especially with the year being hyphenated into '68 allowing for larger, louder, eye catching typography.

• Design is Structure
This book cover manifests the obvious underlying grid. The paintings combine to create a dividing line in the middle and allow for strategic placement of text. The cropping in the photos adds to the structure and curiosity of the content.
